Sunday Slices: We’re Number Two!

Sunday Slices (Adam in Jail from MAD MONEY)

The Apple is back for another roundup of items and updates from the world of Adam Rothenberg. Enjoy.

In the first part of a two-part Entertainment Tonight interview with Adam’s Mad Money co-star Katie Holmes, we picked up the confirmation that there will be “on-screen passion” between the two in the flick and also nabbed the brooding production still used above. Nice.

Many thanks to Myma over at katieholmes.com for the video.

Mad Money was expected to wrap production on June 8th, which would have been Friday. Still no official site or release date, but a fairly awful poster for Mad Money has popped up (we stole our copy from Katie-Holmes.org) that I’m personally hoping is some kind of draft placeholder thing.

We can also give a big thanks to Katie-Holmes.org for the May 11th production still above, which was also featured in the May 28th Life & Style as part of a little Katie-related piece which noted that an insider claims that she and Adam have “great rapport.”

The Mariah Carey fansites have been tracking the development of Tennessee pretty closely and recently reported rumors that the film might debut at a film festival this fall to be followed by a general release in 2008. Or something. Nobody really knows at this point is what we’re saying, although David Cronenberg (director Aaron Woodley’s uncle) has seen a rough cut and given a big thumbs up to Carey’s performance. Sadly, no word on what DC thought of our man Adam.

What’s so bad about this poster? I like it.
BTW I’m wondering what’s Adam opinion on the whole Mad Money experience, now that the filming has been wrapped up.

There’s something about the type selection for “MAD” that bugs me and I can’t quite put my finger on it, it feels dated or something. The type treatment on the names up top would have been perfect for “Foul Play.”

But then it’s also embossed for some unknown reason and it’s awkwardly butting up against the artwork and it’s got the jumbly letters. I get the “MAD” being off the baseline and different sizes (it’s mad!), but why is the “MONEY” part as well? Particularly when they went back to the more blocky san serif for the type. I’m a nerd, I know.

Beyond that, I kind of assume it’s a draft, just ’cause there are no shots of the cast on it, which is pretty standard for a movie of this type. And, obviously, no credits and no particular place for the credits to go within the current layout. I’d be curious to know if this is the final poster or, like I said, some kind of interim thing.

We’re definitely trying to get more details from Adam on both “Mad Money” and “Tennessee” and we’ll pass along anything we hear as soon as we can. Thanks for stopping by and contributing to the site.
