Tennessee To Screen at Bahamas Film Festival
Films screening at this year’s Bahamas Film Festival in Nassau include Ryan Fleck’s “Sugar”; Aaron Woodley’s “Tennessee,” starring Mariah Carey; helmer Austin Chick’s “August,” starring Josh Hartnett, Adam Scott and Robin Tunney; and Spike Lee’s “Miracle at St. Anna.”
Opener “Rain,” an indie pic from Bahamian filmmaker Maria Govan, was developed through the fest’s Filmmaker Residency Program in 2005. Sean Connery will hand Laurence Fishburne the career achievement nod, and thesp Anna Faris will be feted with the rising star tribute.
The festival runs Dec. 4-11.
Tennessee is also scheduled for a special one-week screening from Dec. 5-11 in Los Angeles, California at the Laemmle’s Music Hall 3, 9036 Wilshire Blvd., as we previously reported.

Tennessee will be released theatrically January/February 2009 by Vivendi.
December 11th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
As previously posted here…
The film will open in only one theater in Los Angeles to satisfy the requirements of the Academy qualifications. According to Vivendi Entertainment, the plan is to roll out the film to additional markets in late January 2009/early February 2009, but it will not be released in theaters on December 19, 2008, as previously announced.
Now, I found another new theatrical release date…and according to MariahDailyJournal:
Tennessee concludes its one-week Academy qualifying engagement in Los Angeles today, Thursday, December 11th and open in select theaters in March 2009.
Plus…the music video (including the lyrics) for Mariah Carey’s “Right To Dream” song from Tennessee has just been released earlier this week. Here’s the music video link via YouTube with clips from the movie featuring co-stars Adam Rothenberg and Ethan Peck.

Also, MDJ site has posted a new poster for Tennessee, which was published by Vivendi for FYC (For Your Consideration) for “Right To Dream”
