Everybody Out of the Car

The long-awaited theatrical debut of Tennessee is in sight and we couldn’t be more excited here at the Apple.

As long-time commenter Jeane noted, the official website has a list of venues for this limited release (click the “Theatres” link in the menu). We assume it’s complete, but you might want to check your local listings anyway. Right now, it appears to be confined to a few New York-area theatres, one option each in Dallas and Philadelphia, and a whole bunch in Tennessee, natch.

We’re keeping a sharp eye out for any Adam press as we head on in to Friday, so keep checking in as the big day approaches and check out the trailer to get ready. Woooo!

Tennessee is finally showing tomorrow (Friday, June 5th)! Unfortunately, my local theaters aren’t showing Tennessee. :(

Btw, according to Box Office Mojo, there are 15 theater counts (last time I checked there were 14).

Let’s hope they’ll expand in more theaters ’cause my area’s not showing it and if they don’t…I may have to wait for it on DVD, unfortunately. :(

Anyways, here are a few Tennessee Reviews:

This modest, melancholic road-movie drama concerns two brothers (Adam Rothenberg and Ethan Peck) who travel from New Mexico to Tennessee in search of their violent father. Why? Because Peck’s character has developed leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. Tennessee veers dangerously ?close to made-for-TV territory. But you utterly believe the bond between the siblings, and Rothenberg excels in his role of a protective older bro who also happens to be a haunted binge drinker. Mariah Carey is perfectly fine playing a waitress who dreams of becoming, yes, a ?singer – even if the superstar’s presence in such a small venture seems jarring. B-
