Hey, Adam Was on the Teevee Last Night!

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

And we didn’t know until our mom told us. Yes, Adam appeared in last night’s new installment of the Law & Order: Criminal Intent saga, “The Mobster Will See You Now.” Definitely worth catching for the Adam faithful since he’s got a fairly large guest-starring role in this one and goes toe-to-toe with fellow student of Sanford Meisner Jeff Goldblum.

It’ll be airing again on Monday, June 28th at 5:00 PM on USA and can be purchased at Amazon Video on Demand for $1.99 iTunes for $1.99 ($2.99 for high-def).

THE MOBSTER WILL SEE YOU NOW (#CI9013)
EPISODE PREMIERE: June 22, 2010

Several years ago, two doctors struggled to realize their dream of owning a hospital. In order to secure financing, DR. JOEL SILVERSTEIN and DR. SHELTON SPRING were forced to turn to a friend – HENRY DI PIANO, entrepreneur and son of a renowned mob boss. Henry, in his own desire to become an honest businessman, convinced a group of retired mobsters to invest in the endeavor.

The plan worked beautifully, until one day LES TARNEY, a mid-level government official with the Department of Health and Human Resources, came to pay doctors Silverstein and Spring a visit. As it turns out, the doctors had been overcharging their patients for routine procedures. Instead of turning them in, Tarney has decided to blackmail the doctors. They complied, terrified at what will happen should their mob financiers discover the scandal. Just when all seems lost for the doctors, a miracle occurs. Les Tarney chokes on his own dinner. Unfortunately for them all, Nichols and Stevens see Tarney’s death for what it really is – murder. Before their investigation is over, more than one innocent will pay the price for their crimes.

Just a quick note to our readers that there are some nice tips in the comments section with regard to buzz that’s starting around the film and some behind-the-scenes footage that’s leaked out. Due to time constraints on our end, we may not be able to post on everything (we can’t compete with Mariah’s legion of fans), but we do appreciate our readers passing on whatever choice tidbits they can find. Lipstick Jungle AppleAdam’s Lipstick Jungle debut as “a kindergarten teacher with an empathetic smile and gorgeous eyes” now has an airdate and a synopsis. “Carpe Threesome,” Chapter Seven of the series, is set to air on Thursday, March 20th, at 10 PM ET on NBC, a week and a day after his scheduled Law & Order appearance. He’s not mentioned in the synopsis that we pulled from TV Central’s Lipstick Jungle forum, but the other new characters mentioned can be found in the same casting notice as Adam’s, so it’s probably the right episode.

20 Mar 07 Chapter Seven: Carpe Threesome
Wendy (Brooke Shields) is dealing with a very difficult scriptwriter, Lorraine Lippman (Marsha Mason), who cannot seem to put an ending to her movie. Wendy makes a bold move and tells production to move forward, leaving it up to her to get the final script from Lorraine in time. Nico (Kim Raver), still very caught up in her dual life with Kirby, faces a harsh reality when she receives news that Charles (Chris Cousins) has had a heart attack. The scare makes her realize how much she misses her marriage and brings her life back into perspective. What will this mean for Kirby? Elsewhere, Victory (Lindsay Price) is getting used to the idea of Joe Bennett (Andrew McCarthy) as her boss instead of her boyfriend. Hockey superstar, Chris “Parks” Parker (Bobby Cannavale) and his wife grow very fond of Victory. The relationship heats up, which puts Victory in a very compromising position.

For the Tennessee completist, we’ll just pass on the tip that Mariah’s been chatting a bit about her recent film projects during the promotional swing for the musical part of her career, as in this Access Hollywood clip in which she discusses how her previous cinematic missteps have informed her current choices.

Finger Tip

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Law & Order AppleAccording to Alana Addiction, NBC has finally scheduled Adam’s Law & Order episode for March 12th. The synopsis below suggests his character, “Marty Vance,” is the “Bill Fogel” of the casting notice, described as a “‘master-of-the-universe’ type.”

As for the status of Adam’s other projects, assuming that he won’t appear on Lipstick Jungle until episode 7, that looks to be around March 20th at the earliest and Tennessee remains in a holding pattern, tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2008 release.

“Submission” DOG FIGHTING; A WINE DEALERSHIP AND AN OVERZEALOUS REPORTER: LARA FLYNN BOYLE GUEST STARS – The police break up a dog-fighting ring, and discover a woman’s finger inside one of the dead animals. The finger is identified as belonging to Lauren Vance, soon-to-be ex-wife of Marty Vance (guest star Adam Rothenberg), after her body turns up near a dog breeder. Since Lauren and her husband were in the process of divorce proceedings, Detectives Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) initially suspect Marty as the brutal murderer. Marty was involved in the dog-fighting ring with friend and business partner Jay Carlin (guest star David Harbour), an extremely wealthy wine dealer. As the investigation unfolds, the detectives plot to trick an ambitious reporter, Dawn Talley (guest star Lara Flynn Boyle), who uses her sexuality to try to break the case. Turns out Jay’s business is a scam, which leads prosecutors Michael Cutter (Linus Roache) and Connie Rubirosa (Alana De La Garza) to a new suspect. Also starring: Sam Waterston and S. Epatha Merkerson.

Thanks, as always, to fellow Apple staffer dogra for the spiffy title suggestion. You’ve done it AGAIN!

Sunday Slices: Doink-Doink

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

We’re heading into the home stretch for Mad Money (46 long days away!), so let’s take a spin through all the latest Adam Rothenberg developments.

Adam on TVThe eighteenth season of the apparently unkillable Famous Original entry in the Law & Order franchise will benefit from a very special appearance by our Adam, along with Lara Flynn Boyle and new series regulars Jeremy Sisto and Linus Roache. L&O’s making a comeback to Wednesday nights on NBC starting on January 2nd, so Episode #7, “Submission,” should appear sometime in March, but we’ll keep our readers updated when we get a definite airdate.

A little clip of the Boyle character is featured in the series preview on NBC’s website, which, coupled with the episode title, should give the spoiler-inclined a fair chance at figuring out the basic premise.

More updates after the jump.
