Lipstick Jungle AppleAdam’s Lipstick Jungle debut as “a kindergarten teacher with an empathetic smile and gorgeous eyes” now has an airdate and a synopsis. “Carpe Threesome,” Chapter Seven of the series, is set to air on Thursday, March 20th, at 10 PM ET on NBC, a week and a day after his scheduled Law & Order appearance. He’s not mentioned in the synopsis that we pulled from TV Central’s Lipstick Jungle forum, but the other new characters mentioned can be found in the same casting notice as Adam’s, so it’s probably the right episode.

20 Mar 07 Chapter Seven: Carpe Threesome
Wendy (Brooke Shields) is dealing with a very difficult scriptwriter, Lorraine Lippman (Marsha Mason), who cannot seem to put an ending to her movie. Wendy makes a bold move and tells production to move forward, leaving it up to her to get the final script from Lorraine in time. Nico (Kim Raver), still very caught up in her dual life with Kirby, faces a harsh reality when she receives news that Charles (Chris Cousins) has had a heart attack. The scare makes her realize how much she misses her marriage and brings her life back into perspective. What will this mean for Kirby? Elsewhere, Victory (Lindsay Price) is getting used to the idea of Joe Bennett (Andrew McCarthy) as her boss instead of her boyfriend. Hockey superstar, Chris “Parks” Parker (Bobby Cannavale) and his wife grow very fond of Victory. The relationship heats up, which puts Victory in a very compromising position.

For the Tennessee completist, we’ll just pass on the tip that Mariah’s been chatting a bit about her recent film projects during the promotional swing for the musical part of her career, as in this Access Hollywood clip in which she discusses how her previous cinematic missteps have informed her current choices.

Tennessee’s Comin’ to New York

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Tennessee AppleAccording to Mariah Carey’s fansite, the delovely diva paid a visit to TRL yesterday to announce the big, big news that Tennessee will be appearing at the Tribeca Film Festival this spring. Oh, and to launch her new video, “Touch My Body”. Show Adam’s co-star some love and vote for it. And it’s got Jack McBrayer! The Apple staff sure loves them some Jack McBrayer. The Mariah Daily Journal has a downloadable video of the announcement, posted at midnight today.

We were getting a little impatient there, but this is pretty cool. No schedule or official roster of films has been announced as of yet, but the website does currently offer a mailing list and, for American Express cardholders, various ticket packages composed of presently unannounced films. This year, the festival will run from April 23rd to May 4th and tickets for individual shows will go on sale April 12th for AmEx cardholders, the 18th for downtown residents and the 19th for everybody else. As always, updates to follow.

Update:
If past years are any guide, we can expect the official lineup to be released around the middle of March.

Just a quick update on one of Adam’s other projects, Lipstick Jungle received an order from the network for another six scripts. Still no word on whether additional episodes will be filmed (or the status of Adam’s character), but it is doing reasonably well with its target demographic of women 18-34 and women 18-49, so we’re cautiously optimistic that our man Adam may be on our TV screens on a regular basis in the very near future.

Finger Tip

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Law & Order AppleAccording to Alana Addiction, NBC has finally scheduled Adam’s Law & Order episode for March 12th. The synopsis below suggests his character, “Marty Vance,” is the “Bill Fogel” of the casting notice, described as a “‘master-of-the-universe’ type.”

As for the status of Adam’s other projects, assuming that he won’t appear on Lipstick Jungle until episode 7, that looks to be around March 20th at the earliest and Tennessee remains in a holding pattern, tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2008 release.

“Submission” DOG FIGHTING; A WINE DEALERSHIP AND AN OVERZEALOUS REPORTER: LARA FLYNN BOYLE GUEST STARS - The police break up a dog-fighting ring, and discover a woman’s finger inside one of the dead animals. The finger is identified as belonging to Lauren Vance, soon-to-be ex-wife of Marty Vance (guest star Adam Rothenberg), after her body turns up near a dog breeder. Since Lauren and her husband were in the process of divorce proceedings, Detectives Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) initially suspect Marty as the brutal murderer. Marty was involved in the dog-fighting ring with friend and business partner Jay Carlin (guest star David Harbour), an extremely wealthy wine dealer. As the investigation unfolds, the detectives plot to trick an ambitious reporter, Dawn Talley (guest star Lara Flynn Boyle), who uses her sexuality to try to break the case. Turns out Jay’s business is a scam, which leads prosecutors Michael Cutter (Linus Roache) and Connie Rubirosa (Alana De La Garza) to a new suspect. Also starring: Sam Waterston and S. Epatha Merkerson.

Thanks, as always, to fellow Apple staffer dogra for the spiffy title suggestion. You’ve done it AGAIN!

Resubmission

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Law & Order AppleAccording to The Futon Critic, Adam’s episode of Law & Order, “Submission,” has been bumped from its slot next week. There doesn’t seem to be a new airdate yet, but it’s looking like early March at the earliest.

After the jump, we take a look at some spoilers regarding the casting of the ep and take a stab at sussing out Adam’s character.

Lipstick Traces

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Lipstick Jungle AppleAdam’s relentless pursuit of the female audience continues with a turn in the midseason replacement, Lipstick Jungle, based on the novel by Sex and the City’s muse, Candace Bushnell. Rumor has it he’s playing a sensitive yet presumably foxy kindergarten teacher/Brooke Shields love interest at some point this season. We don’t have airdates for Adam’s episodes yet and the future of the recurring role is tad uncertain, thanks to the ongoing writer’s strike, so check back in later for more updates.

Lipstick Jungle debuts on NBC, Thursday, February 7, 2008, 10 PM ET and stars Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price.

Update (January 23, 2008):
While trying to find out when Adam would be making his appearance, I found the following casting notice:

Title: LIPSTICK JUNGLE , TV Series - 1 Hour for NBC. Episode Title: #107. EXEC PROD, Oliver Goldstick, Candace Bushnell, Tim Busfield; DIR, Tim Busfield; WRTR, Lisa Alden, Dan Bucatinsky. Shoot Dates: January 24-February 4, 2008 (in New York). Breakdown … Ben: 35, Male. Kindergarten teacher with an empathetic smile and gorgeous eyes. (Posted: December 24, 2007)

So it looks like he’s probably debuting in the seven episode of the series, which would presumably be late March, early April, something in there, but we’ll keep trying to pin that down.

Sunday Slices: Doink-Doink

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

We’re heading into the home stretch for Mad Money (46 long days away!), so let’s take a spin through all the latest Adam Rothenberg developments.

Adam on TVThe eighteenth season of the apparently unkillable Famous Original entry in the Law & Order franchise will benefit from a very special appearance by our Adam, along with Lara Flynn Boyle and new series regulars Jeremy Sisto and Linus Roache. L&O’s making a comeback to Wednesday nights on NBC starting on January 2nd, so Episode #7, “Submission,” should appear sometime in March, but we’ll keep our readers updated when we get a definite airdate.

A little clip of the Boyle character is featured in the series preview on NBC’s website, which, coupled with the episode title, should give the spoiler-inclined a fair chance at figuring out the basic premise.

More updates after the jump.

Adam Gets KOed

Adam on Keeping Tabs

In the interests of full disclosure, it should be noted that we here at the Apple, while initially amused by gossip about the alleged AdKat hookup, are getting a wee bit bored with the whole thing. At least until the shots of a topless Adam and a Tomless Katie canoodling about Shreveport come out. We’re saying we’d like to see some documentation on this thing. Until then, we’re all about the acting, baby.

Despite this, we couldn’t help but find ourselves giddy like schoolchildren at the inclusion of Adam on the May 2nd episode of Countdown with Keith Olbermann. We don’t actually know how Adam feels about KO, but the staff here at the Apple have been fans since his first pairing with once-and-current tag team partner Dan Patrick on SportsCenter, so it was a big cheap thrill for us to have two of our favorite men sharing the airwaves if only for a moment.

Watch it! Before the video police shut us down.

Recap after the jump. (more…)

Damages, Part Deux

Adam and the Cast of Damages

Further exploration into Adam’s activities uncovered more information on Damages (Working Title), as Fox Television likes to call it:

Executive producer Jonathan Lisco (’NYPD Blue,’ ‘The District, ‘Jack & Bobby’) has created a fearless drama about the moral dilemma of being a lawyer in America today. DAMAGES focuses on four young Chicago attorneys — all complex, all like us in many ways — who must resist the seductive power of their profession if they are to have truly meaningful personal lives.

JACK SHALE (Cole Hauser, ‘ER,’ ‘Good Will Hunting’) is a brilliant but morally ambiguous litigator with blue-collar roots whose natural charm and intensity threaten to take him over the edge. His best friend EVAN WEXLER (Adam Rothenberg, ‘Misconceptions’) is caught between the boss who’s making advances and his family at home. SUSAN KEEVER (Kristin Lehman, ‘Judging Amy’), a lawyer with high ideals, is trying to hold onto them while harboring a terrible secret. And Susan’s roommate JENNIFER CARILLO (Sarah Shahi, ‘The L Word’), a sexy, ambitious State’s Attorney, is fighting for justice while discovering the limits of what she will sacrifice.

Brash and close to the bone, DAMAGES combines the pace and wit of ‘The West Wing’ with the intrigue of ‘The Firm.’ In addition to telling compelling legal stories, the series also will probe the ways in which their jobs affect the lawyers themselves. Each week, Damages will take an amusing and provocative approach as it cross-examines work, love and all that we value.

DAMAGES is directed by Jon Amiel (’Entrapment’) and produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

They’re like us, in many ways. Can’t wait.

We Are Deeply Ashamed….

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

We here at Adam’s Apple have recently become aware that we have failed to provide our readers with timely Adam Rothenberg updates. We apologize and offer the following tidbit from the Futon Critic:

DAMAGES (FOX) - Adam Rothenberg (Eddie Cabrio on Misconceptions) has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about the personal and professional lives of a group of Chicago-based lawyers. Rothenberg, whose involvement is likely in second position to the yet-to-debut WB comedy, will play Evan Wexler in the project, which also stars Cole Hauser and Kristin Lehman. Damages is set up at 20th Century Fox Television with Jon Amiel directing from a script by creator Jonathan Lisco.

Damages also features one of this blogger’s personal favorite Melrose Place alum, the spunky Laura Leighton.
